The Holiday Season

With the holiday season quickly approaching (Hannukah starts on December 1st, I'm starting to see the annual madness overtaking my kids (age 20 and 15). What do I want, what are you gonna get me, etc. Ahhhh, I long for the days when there was extra money laying around to satisfy every whim, but that hasn't been the case for the last 5 years or so. Today, my son started out wanting a new laptop and by this afternoon he'd decided that a new piece of nifty software for $70 would fill the bill instead (yay!)But he'd also like a kindle. I think they're pretty nifty myself as well. Well, I guess I can pony up for this and some clothes and of course my traditional gift of socks and underwear. My daughter also called with a wish list which there is no way to fulfill this year. An autofocus fisheye lens for her camera. A little goodie, which at $900 is just beyond my reach. She understands, but it broke my heart to tell her no. She's a photography major and next semester she'll be needing a full set of studio lights, and while I hate to have to give it to her as a Hannukah gift, I think that's what we're going to have to do.

I sure do wish that October and November hadn't been as disappointing for me business wise. I mean, I know its expected but this year has been especially slow. Well, hopefully December will be better than expected and things will straighten themselves out. Until tomorrow....
