The color wheel and more help picking your color scheme

Let’s have a little lesson about the color wheel to help you understand why some colors work well together and others don’t.

There are three primary colors: red, yellow, and blue.  Every color is a combination of two or more of these three colors with the exception of black and white.

Let’s say you are redecorating a girl’s room in shades of pink.  A color made from the combination of red and white.

You are actually choosing a “monochromatic” color scheme, meaning it is variations of one color.  All of the pinks you select will actually be a red that has a small amount of yellow, blue, black, or white to offset them from red in its primary color.
There is a lot to know about a color wheel but here’s some basics to expand later:
Warm Colors: Red, yellow, and orange
Cool colors: blue, purple and green
Emphasizing one group or the other sets a mood in your home at your event or both!

More to come on how these colors can work together for you.
